The chains represent betrayals, past and future.
The broken dagger (left), represents the taking of lives, past and future.
The books and scrolls represent memories/secrets being retold.

Wowee! I heard about the contest two days before it ended and this is what I came up with! I've been working on it straight for two whole days. Stinking background had me hooped earlier. Kinda had a meltdown for ~Wolf--Paw . Sowwy. But I assure you it's allll gooood~

GUESS WHAT PEOPLE? I DIDN'T USE A REF FOR THE CAT!
Uhh..yeh. Fire failed. Straight out. It looks terrible. I was mad at it so...yeah. I just kinda scribbled in some colors and such. Hurhur.

Ummmmm....this 'character' in the picture is no real character of mine, although...I may make her one. I think she's cute. I loooove her mane/hair!

It felt like I worked on this picture for a week...but it was only two days.

Okay, here's how the past two days went:
Thursday: Read about the contest, wanted to enter. Asked ~Wolf--Paw for some inspiration. Sketched out the whole picture (more like scribbled it ) then started on doing the lines. Changed the size so it was bigger then created the color palette. Started coloring the small things; started with the chains, moved on to the coins. Realized I was coloring the coins on the wrong layer. Erased all the coins' coloring. (Ugh.) Re-colored the coins then moved onto the books. Looked at the time, said goodnight to my sister on Gmail chat and went to bed at 4:00 in the morning.
Friday</b>: Slept in. Got mad at myself because I had to get it done by that night/Saturday morning. Flipped out and started working on it. Finished coloring the books, finished coloring the walls and floor of the cave. Tried out some shadows. First round of shadows? Didn't work. Erase. Second round of shadows? Didn't work either. Erase. Asked my sister for help, she'd fallen asleep and didn't reply. Had a meltdown on msn to ~Wolf--Paw because I couldn't do it right and my sister hadn't replied even after I had waited for two whole hours. Went to bed, noticing it was 5:00 am in the morning. Woke up to hear my mom going out to work. Didn't get back to sleep that fast after that.
Saturday</i>: Was woken up at 7:15 by my alarm clock. Grumbled because I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. () Dad told me to turn it off. Went to the computer and started working on the picture again. Sketched in some shadows, scribbled in the fire, colored in the 'character'. Added a few details. (scars, glints on the coins and dagger) before rushing myself to submit it to deviantart.

THAT. Was my two days.

But hey look! I lived.
